How much will you earn.

Just like your home country wages vary in Australia depending on the type of work you do. At the BRC we focus on getting good paid work. For most jobs where previous experience is not a must you can expect to earn between A$15- A$20 an hour.

Where you undertake work requiring prior qualifications or skills wages might vary between $20-$45 and hour.

Paying Taxes.

All workers with a one working holiday visa pay tax at the rate of 29%. The first step is to apply for a Tax File Number (TFN).

When you are placed in work through the BRC we will ensure that your employers are providing the correct forms for you to complete.

Every person who works in Australia must file a tax return after the end of the financial year (June). If this is not done workers risk a fine.

After you have worked you may be entitled to claim some of your tax back. At the BRC we can assist you in making your claim.

Superannuation.

What is Superannuation:

Superannuation is really just a pension fund, that can usually not be accessed until you have retired (which in Australia is usually not earlier than 55).

When you work in Australia and earn over $450.00 a month your employer is obliged to pay an amount equal to 9% of your wages into Super

While you are employed in Australia, it’s important that you:

  • are aware of which superannuation fund your employer is contributing to on your behalf
  • keep a record of the amount of superannuation you have, and
  • contact your superannuation fund before you leave Australia to check if you are eligible to access your superannuation benefits.

We assist you do all these things. At the BRC we can help you get back all your Superannuation once you leave Australia.
